Radio For The Whole Community

GLOSS FM started broadcasting in 2005 as "Thornbury FM".  After 8 successful broadcasts the station relocated its transmitter in the summer of 2009.  This permitted its service to reach a larger area of South Gloucestershire and beyond, and triggered our name change to something that reflected the enlarged coverage area.  GLOSS FM is fully owned by Severnvale Media CIC.  Essentially, a CIC is similar to a Limited company except that we may not extract a profit and all assets are "locked" within the company for use in the interests of the local community.

We now have ten successful transmissions under our belt, we have the experience, enthusiasm and volunteers to look forward to another maximum 28-day broadcast in November 2010.

The members and other supporters are organised into seven focus groups, each looking at a specific area of development to get the station on air. All of these are run by local volunteers and would welcome your support.
